Why Comprehensive Stroke?
Simply put – healthier patients means healthier hospitals
According to the American Heart Association since the inception of GWTG-Stroke in 2003 more than 1,656 hospitals have entered more than two million patient records. The program’s success in achieving measurable patient outcome improvements have now been published in numerous studies.
Comprehensive Stroke Facts
There are eight standardized Comprehensive Stroke (CSTK) measures. Data for these eight CSTK measures is collected in addition to the eight stroke (STK) core measures required for primary stroke center certification.
Participating hospitals report
- improved quality of care to patients
- demonstrated commitment to a higher standard of service
- a framework for organizational structure and management
- a competitive edge in the marketplace
- enhanced staff recruitment and development
